Ekatherina Waterfield BA(Hons), MEd with a great honor received ISM Registered Private Teacher status in May 2026. This professional certification serves as a mark of quality, demonstrating to students and parents that the educator has passed reference and background checks and adheres to strict safeguarding policies. Additionally, Ekatherina is also subscribed to the DBS (Disclosure and Barring) update service. 

Since February 2026, Ekatherina has attended the following Wharfedale Piano Teachers courses: 

‘Kodaly Teaching Methods’ and ‘Journey Through Beethoven’ with Kris Worsley ‘Piano for Children Aged 3-7 Using Kodaly Principles’ with Elza and Chris Lusher

‘The Rhythm Revolution’ and ‘Virtuoso Teacher’ with Paul Harris

‘Alexander Technique – Retraining the Muscle Memory’ with Andy Moorhouse 

In June 2026 Ekatherina participated in the ‘Weekend in Italy’ course with the concert pianist and educator Margherita Torretta at Finchcocks. The course covered the following topics: ‘Stylistic performance technique for Italian character’ and ‘Essential ornamentation and improvisation of the Baroque era in Italy’. 

Since January 2026, some of Ekatherina’s piano pupils have participated in the following competitions and concerts: 

1. EPTA UK National Piano Competition 2026, beginners class Grade 1-2
2. Lincolnshire Music Festival, piano solo elementary, 3rd place
3. Derby Arts Festival 2026, piano solo Grade 2-3, 1st place
4. Ekatherina’s piano pupil was granted a special honour to perform at the Derby Music Festival Winners concert in May 2026

Ekatherina annually conducts piano concerts for private pupils at the Lincoln Bishop University Chapel twice a year. This venue has the concert Yamaha grand piano and the most ambient acoustic. The upcoming piano concert will be held on Saturday the 18th July at 6:30pm.
